Giving

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

- Luke 6:38

Why we give

Our responsibility to give is a response to God’s generosity.
It’s an expression of joy and gratitude for the bounty of God’s goodness.

Abundant blessings imply weighty responsibilities; …“For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more”
(Luke 12:48).

Our possessions are to be used not merely for our enjoyment but more importantly to Glorify God. “Freely ye have received, freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

“Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly or of necessity: for God loves a cheerful giver”
(II Corinthians 9:7).
